Poor night of sleep

Around 3:40am today I was awoken by a sudden crash. It turned out that a plastic bin full of clothes fell off a shelf in our closet. Right around this time an earthquake was observed in Western Montana. The quake was 430 miles from our house but I thikn a depth of 10.5 miles is on the shallow side. If I recall correctly from my college Geology classes shallow quakes tend to travel further. Can anyone confirm this? I am still uncertain if I would be able to feel a 1.2 Magnitude quake 430 miles from the epicenter.
